Your options at a glance
Three routes. One fits your sense of security.
The premium is not the only factor: what matters is when cover should apply. Choose the scope first, then see your personal premium.
Illness and accidents
Klinik 2-Bett
e.g. EUR 33.41/month at age 30
Balanced cover for greater comfort and private medical treatment in hospital.
- Twin room
- Private medical treatment
- Free hospital choice subject to policy terms
- Rooming-in for insured children under 16
Illness and accidents
Klinik 1-Bett
e.g. EUR 50.72/month at age 30
The more extensive route when privacy, quiet and additional family benefits matter to you.
- Private or twin room
- Private medical treatment
- EUR 10 hospital allowance per full inpatient day
- Family room after childbirth within the policy scope
Accidents only
Klinik bei Unfall
e.g. EUR 7.00/month at age 30
An affordable entry to private-patient comfort when inpatient treatment is required due to an accident.
- Private or twin room after an accident
- Private medical treatment after an accident
- Free hospital choice subject to policy terms
- No health assessment
Choose one of the three cards. A clear next step then takes you to the premium calculator.
The SP1 and SP2 applications include health questions. SPU applies only to accident-related treatment and requires no health assessment. Benefits are subject to policy terms; your personal premium mainly depends on your age when joining.
Benefits before price
When it matters, what is actually insured counts.
Statutory insurance covers medically necessary care. Your hospital plan adds the optional services that matter to you personally.
Important: the plan determines when cover applies
SP1 and SP2 apply within the agreed scope for illness and accidents. SPU covers the hospital extras only after an accident.
Private medical treatment
Treatment by a chief physician or attending specialist; reimbursement in the SDK hospital plans is not capped at the GOÄ maximum rates.
More privacy in your room
SP2 secures a twin room. SP1 offers a private or twin room. SPU covers this benefit only after an accident.
More choice of hospital
Free hospital choice is insured within the policy scope, including private and specialist hospitals.
No policy waiting period
New insured events are covered from the policy start date. Events that occurred before then are not insured.
Family cover, clearly explained
Expecting parents and children need two different answers.
Newborn enrolment is not the same as affordable accident cover for a child. See the difference immediately.
For expecting parents
Plan cover before the birth
If one parent is insured at the time of birth, the newborn can be admitted without a health assessment when the policy requirements are met.
- Registration within two months after birth
- Cover backdated to the day of birth
- Rooming-in for the subsequently insured child
- Family room after childbirth in SP1 subject to policy terms
All newborn enrolment requirements must be met. The parent's existing cover, the deadline and the current policy terms are decisive.
For children
Illness cover or accidents only?
For children, too, the cause matters: SP1 and SP2 cover agreed hospital services for illness and accidents, while SPU only applies after an accident.
- SP1: private or twin room
- SP2: twin room
- SPU: affordable accident cover without a health assessment
- Rooming-in for insured children under 16
SPU is not general hospital cover for children. It does not pay for inpatient treatment caused by illness.
