This selection is not an application. Acceptance, price and benefits depend on the insurer, animal data and medical assessment.

Why it pays to look now

One major treatment can quickly cost thousands.

You do not have to insure every vet bill. What matters is choosing a plan that carries the risks that would genuinely strain your budget.

    Illustrative dog example

How cruciate ligament surgery costs can add up

    Diagnosticsapprox. EUR 650
    Surgeryapprox. EUR 2,100
    Anaesthesia & monitoringapprox. EUR 350
    Medication & aftercareapprox. EUR 450
    Possible total costapprox. EUR 3,550

Simplified example, not a price promise. The actual invoice depends on treatment, region and the GOT rate charged, among other factors.

    Quick answers

The key questions before your plan review

01What is the difference between surgery-only and full cover?

Surgery cover focuses on insured operations and, depending on the plan, diagnostics and aftercare. Full cover may also include outpatient treatment, medication and preventive care. The exact scope is always set by the policy terms.

    02What happens with pre-existing conditions?

Medical information may lead to exclusions, additional premiums or rejection. The insurer decides whether and on what terms an animal can be accepted after its medical assessment.

    03Does my animal's age matter?

Yes. Entry age, premium and available plans may depend on age. We therefore ask for it before making a recommendation and do not promise blanket acceptance.

04Why do horses have a separate path?

For horses, keeping and use matter alongside age and health. We therefore do not treat horse cover as a copied dog plan, but assess the need separately.

    05What happens after my inquiry?

Healio reviews your information and responds personally with an assessment. Only then do you decide whether to submit a specific application. The inquiry itself is not a promise of cover.

Your animal. Your needs. Check them properly.

Choose animal and cover – we will assess the rest together.
